Oklahoma State Lands D2 National Player of the Year Talexa Weeter
STILLWATER – After losing several players to the transfer portal, Jacie Hoyt landed a big splash out of the portal with the commitment of Talexa Weeter.
Weeter transfers in after two seasons at Fort Hayes State. She was the nation’s leading scorer among all D1 and D2 programs last season. She started 31 of 31 games as a junior and averaged 27.5 points per game on 52% shooting from the field and nearly 40% from 3-point range. She also averaged close to nine rebounds with 48 assists, 84 turnovers and 43 steals.
Following the season, she was named the D2CCA National Player of the Year. She also set an MIAA record for points in a season with 852 and had 12 30-plus points games this past season.
Weeter marks the first commitment out of the portal Hoyt and Co. during this transfer cycle.
