Oklahoma State Lands Georgetown Seven-Foot Transfer Julius Halaifonua
STILLWATER – One of the missing pieces to the roster for the upcoming season for Oklahoma State was height. Well, Steve Lutz and Co. have addressed that issue as they landed Georgetown seven-footer, Julius Halaifonua.
Halaifonua checks in at 7-0, just so you didn’t forget, and 260 pounds. He hails from Auckland, New Zealand, and is coming off his sophomore season with the Hoyas.
This past season, Halaifonua averaged nearly 10 points and five rebounds per game across 32 games, 28 of which he started. He shot 61% from the floor and nearly 75% from the free throw line on 71-of-95 from the line.
He also had 41 assists, 23 blocks and 23 turnovers.
As a true freshman in 2024-25, he played in just six games before a season-ending injury as he averaged just over 13 minutes per game.
Prior to his two seasons at Georgetown, Halaifonua attended Rosmini College Prep in Auckland, NZ, before moving over to the NBA Global Academy in Australia in 2024, where he averaged 13 points on 57% shooting across 16 games.
Halaifonua will join Luka Bogavac (North Carolina,) Andrija Grbovic (Arizona State) and Kashie Natt and Jacob Walker (both Sam Houston) out of the transfer portal. Kanye Clary, Ben Ahmed, Ryan Crotty and Mekhi Ragland are all returning from last season and Lutz and Co. have added Latrell Allmond, Jalen Montonati, Parker Robinson and Anthony Felesi in the 2026 class.
