STILLWATER – The first commitment of the 2027 class for Steve Lutz and Co. is a Cowboy football legacy. Tyson Pogi, son of former OSU quarterback Aso Pogi, announced his pledge to Oklahoma State.
Pogi checks in at 6-1, 170 pounds and is a point guard for Southmoore high school in Moore, Oklahoma. He’s coming off a solid junior season in which he averaged nearly 28 points per game, along with 6.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Those numbers landed him Offensive Player of the Year honors in the district following the season.
Those numbers are coming off a very solid AAU season with MoKan last summer in which he averaged 17 points across six games at Peach Jam while shooting 57% from 3-point range.
It’s going to be really nostalgic for those of us who watched Aso running and slinging the rock around old Lewis Field back in the day.
