STILLWATER – Oklahoma State pulled off the improbably on Saturday as the Pokes upset No. 6 Oregon, 39-31.
Head coach Eric Morris met with the media following the game.
“I just thought we played great complementary football today,” Eric Morris said. “I think we just kept fighting, kept swinging on all three sides of the football. There really weren't many opportunities in the kicking game on both sides. I thought the punters executed really well on both sides. I thought the kickoff guys executed really well, and so it was really a mute point as far as the return game. I mean, the field goals were the field goals. I thought the big thing is we sustained so many great drives on offense, and then if we capitalize on a couple more of those and stick it in the end zone, we were able to build that lead, and so there'll still be so much to learn from this. But you know, we'll come back. We'll continue. Like, for me now, and I told the team just now, ‘What worked was us coaching you really hard this week, and you responded. So, don't feel like you're gonna come in here and not get coached hard again next week. Then that would be shame on me, right? Like, why would we not take the formula that was the better of the two?’ Not that we didn't coach hard before. I think we've got a lot of new people figuring people out, and so some of that expedited that I think is a good thing.”
