STILLWATER – This should come as no surprise to Oklahoma State fans as the Cowgirls are consensus preseason favorites to win the Big 12 by the media who covers the conference.

This comes after the Pokes’ first-ever preseason No. 1 ranking in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Transfers Audi Crooks was tabbed the preseason Big 12 Player of the Year and Liv McGill the conference Newcomer of the Year.

While this is nearly an entirely new team, Jacie Hoyt’s team is coming off a 24-10 season and a second-round finish in the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season. It marked the third time in the past four season the Cowgirls have finished in the top four of the Big 12 under coach Hoyt.

Along with the preseason rankings in the Big 12, the Pokes are ranked No. 19 in the WBCA Coaches’ Poll and No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25, which marks the first time since 2014-15 and 2015-16 they’ve been ranked in the AP preseason poll.

The Pokes start the 2026-27 season this coming Monday, Nov. 2 as they play host to Southern at 5 p.m.
