Is this the best OSU class in a long time?

I think so.

only 2 kids rated at 84, and everybody else rated higher than that, everybody.

(well except the recent RB commit, who hasn't yet been rated by the silly services)

This is why I don't get so tied up in knots over what the star sellers say. I look at the stats and the resumes and this is a solid set of kids that will come in and provide contributors. My guess is that like all of Gundy's classes. They'll contribute and wind up putting OSU in the rankings far above whatever low ball number the star sellers slap on them.

This is the biggest gap between how the OSU class looks and how they are rated that I can remember.

This signing day stuff is all fun and cotton candy, but it really doesn't have the impact that it used to. With the advent of the Transfer Portal and NIL, too many recruits aren't even at the same school in a year or tow so what does it matter.
I used to get so concerned about how oSu ranked amongst the top programs as far as their recruiting class, but not anymore.
I used to think Gundy wasn't doing enough to attract the top performers, but not anymore.

Now, the TP has made this day more of a sports click bait interest than anything of lasting import.

Also, looking back at a list of our top recruits (4 stars and above), we really had a lot of guys that just didn't pan out like we thought they would. So, national signing day is worth celebrating as much as Festivus.
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

What really sticks out with a lot of these kids is the HS programs they came from!!! Two of our recruiting analysts told me that you can usually make a safe assumption that if a kid comes out of a powerhouse program in Texas or Oklahoma (5-A or 4-A) that they have had a lot of not only top level coaching but also the nutrition regimen that you see at the college level along with a fairly advanced weight training regimen!!! You just hope they have that internal motivation to be the best they can be!
