Report: Steve Lutz Set to Hire Ball State Assistant Lou Gudino
STIILWATER – It appears Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz has found one of his new assistant coaches as Jon Rothstein is reporting Lutz is set to hire Ball State assitant, Lou Gudino.
This leaves one opening on the staff for Lutz.
Gudino has been the associate head coach at Ball State the past three seasons, coaching big men. That included Payton Sparks, who earned All-MAC honors all three seasons Gudino was on staff.
Prior to his time with the Cardinals, he spent four seasons with Wichita State, where he helped produce six all-conference selections, which included the Defensive Player of the Year, the Co-Player of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year.
The 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons were very successful for the Shockers, which included a 15-1 start to the ’19-’20 season, and they won the program’s first AAC regular season title.
He spent one season with New Mexico State prior to his time in Wichita, with the Aggies winning a WAC title. He spent several successful seasons with Indiana State, which included five-straight postseason appearances and eight All-MVC honors and the MVC Freshman of the Year. He spent two years at Louisiana Tech prior to his time in Terre Haute.
