Five Cowboys Taken In 2025 MLB Draft, Free Agency Update and Veteran Returning?
STILLWATER – Four Oklahoma State Cowboys were selected on the final day of the 2025 MLB Draft, bringing this year’s total of five Pokes headed to the professional ranks.
Nolan Schubart was selected in the third round on Sunday, with pitcher Sean Youngerman picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fourth round with the 131st overall pick. Fellow pitcher Gabe Davis went in the fifth round to the Chicago White Sox with the 137th overall pick. Harrison Bodendorf was the third Cowboy pitcher to get selected, going to Cleveland in the 10th round and Brayden Smith to Baltimore in the 13th.
While not selected in the draft, catcher Ian Daugherty has signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Twins.
It also appears Holliday and Co. will have a veteran returning in Colin Brueggemann, as reported by Aidan Meola.
Josh Holliday retained one of his 2025 signees in Sebastian Norman, a utility player out of Glendale HS in Springfield, Missouri. Checking in at 6-2, 235 pounds, he hit .366 this past spring with a .505 on-base percentage and a 1.421 OPS. He also participated in the MLB HS Home Run Derby at All-Star Weekend last summer.
