MANHATTAN Ks. – Oklahoma State failed to put points on the board as the Pokes fell to Kansas State, 48-0.

Cowboy head coach Mike Gundy met with the media following the game to discuss the game on both sides of the ball.

"OK, obviously there's not a lot that I need to say we,” said Gundy. “We got our butts kicked. I told the team I've had my butt kick before. I didn't do a good job this week. I was concerned about a variety of things this week. We didn't practice like we normally practice and that's my fault. And that's what you get. I apologized to the team. I didn't handle our team very well this week, and I'm not taking anything away from Kansas State. They're a good team and they played really well. I don't know, you'd have to ask, coach. I don't know if they could have played a better game than they played today. And then we weren't prepared. We just weren't. We weren't very physical upfront. We couldn't do much to balance ourselves offensively. We just, we weren't prepared and it's really pretty simple. And I'll take responsibility for that. I learned a good lesson. I tried to do a couple things different and obviously I'm not gonna do that again. So, I told the guys, you know, sometimes that's the way life is. Not quite as fun as it was last week. But, as I say every Saturday, 'You're gonna play again about this time next week.' So, guys need to recover, get home, come back to work tomorrow, get ready to go. We don't have any time to waste. We have to identify what happened in certain instances and come up with solutions and plans and put them in place and move forward. And I'm repeating myself now, but I've told the guys, I've had my butt kicked before. Not any fun, but we know how to fight back, and we will. Guys need to stick together and get ready tomorrow. Six days to prepare for the next game."

How long do you want to ignore this user?

Gundy has certainly grown up as a coach, taking the blame for the disaster squarely on his shoulders, and not throwing anybody under the bus.

We had some in here in the past that always pointed the fingers somewhere else.... (e.g., "poor execution", etc.)

That was simply godawful in every aspect.

We didn't do a thing.

Embarrassing is what it was.

But typical of OSU fooball. We cannot control our own destiny. When given the opportunity, we continue to drop the ball.
Call it "Poke Choke" (I hate that label) if you will. We didn't choke in the game. We were NEVER in the game.
We did choke our way to the Big 12 Championship.
And now we must depend on the others to help us to our destination.

All of the good vibes created the week before are suddenly and totally gone.

Now, it's back to having to worry if we can win out and someone will help us overcome that tramendous failure in Manhattan.

Even Bedlam seems suspect now.
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

wah, wah, wah,

3 turnovers in the first 5 drives seems like "choking" to me.... by then it's play from behind without a legitimate passing attack... we were doomed at that point.

We need a passing QB like we use to have.... (Robinson, Weeden, Rudolph, etc). We can't win at the highest level with this dual threat nonsense

Again, without proper microphones for the press, we have zero idea what questions are asked.

the one thing that Cody does right over on 24x7, is that he provides the text of the stupid interviews...

I don't normally provide links to competitors sites, but this is an example...
