Oklahoma State Rolls Past Oakland With 91-62 Win
Oklahoma State bounced back in a big way as they rolled to an easy 91-62 win over Oakland on the road.
With the win, the Cowboys move to 2-1 overall on the season.
The Cowboys had multiple players in double-digit figures against the Golden Grizzlies, with senior Avery Anderson III leading the way with 18 points. He went 7-of-10 from the floor, 1-of-1 from 3-point range and 3-for-3 from the free throw line. He also finished with seven assists, one steal, one block and three turnovers.
Moussa Cisse finished with his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds, as well as three blocks. John-Michael Wright and Caleb Asberry were the other two Cowboys in double figures, as Wright finished with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor and an impressive 4-of-7 from 3-point range.
Asberry was great off the bench as he finished with 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor and 3-of-5 from 3-point range.
Both Kalib Boone and Chriss Harris were one point shy of finishing with 10 points apiece, with Harris going off from 3-point range and shooting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Boone went 4-of-7 from the floor with eight rebounds and one block.
There are three stat lines Mike Boynton has to be happy with: 3-point and free throw shooting, as well as turnovers. The Cowboys shot an impressive 52% from beyond the arc, going 12-of-23 from 3-point range. As for free throws, the Cowboys went to the line only a handful of times but finished the game shooting 90%. They also only turned the ball over 10 times.
The Cowboys also scored 33 points off the bench, a figure up considerably from the first two games in which they scored 18 points and 15 points respectively, while holding the Golden Grizzlies to just 18 points off the bench.
The Cowboys will be back out on the road later this week for a showdown against UCF in the Baha Mar Hoops tournament in Nassau, Bahamas. That game is scheduled on Friday, Nov. 18, with a tipoff time yet to be announced. It will, however, be on the CBS Sports Network. More TV details will come at a later time.
