STILLWATER – The summer is always an important time for Oklahoma State basketball. It’s where the new players get acclimated to the program, and where a majority of the team’s strength and conditioning for the upcoming season gets put into place.

Towards the beginning of each summer, Cowboy basketball strength and condition coach Jake Manzelmann puts the team through an exact clone of the NBA Combine to see where each player stands. The drills are designed to “measure the players’ physical dimensions, strength, agility, straight-line speed and vertical jump.”

Senior guard Isaac Likekele showed out in quite a few of the areas, including biggest hand at 11 inches from thumb to pinky, and the largest wingspan among the guards at 7 feet.

Bryce Williams’ hands measured in at 10.5 inches, while newcomer Tyreek Smith and returning big man Bernard Kouma both measured in at 10-inches.

Kalib Boone and Smith both measured the largest wingspans on the team, 7-foot-3 inches, which should come as no surprise as they’re two of the conference leaders in blocked shots. Boone posted a league-high 49 blocked shots in 2020-21, while Smith led Texas Tech in blocks per minute with 21 on the season.

Both Donovan Williams and Chris Harris posted the highest number of bench press reps, 21 and 18 of 185-pounds, respectively.

We found out last season Bryce Williams was one of the fastest players on the court, a fact he backed up during the ¾ court sprint, posting a time of 3.05 seconds. Rondel Walker was right on his heels at 3.06 and Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe at 3.10. There were 10 Cowboys who posted times of 3.18 seconds or faster, so this is going to be another quick team for Mike Boynton and Co.

Likekele recorded the highest vertical on the team with an impressive 41 inches, with Bryce Williams right behind him with 40 inches. Avery Anderson III and Ka. Boone also posted impressive numbers, 39 inches each, with Bryce Thompson and MA Moncrieffe posted 38.5- inches.
