STILLWATER – Oklahoma State will be on the road in Gainesville, FL for a game this season as they’ll face the Florida Gators in the 2022 Big 12/SEC Challenge on Jan. 29.

Tipoff and TV broadcast details have yet to be announced.

This will mark just the fourth all-time meeting between these two programs, the first since 2015, with the Gators holding an 0-3 advantage.

  • Baylor at Alabama
  • Missouri at Iowa State
  • Kentucky at Kansas
  • Kansas State at Ole Miss
  • Oklahoma at Auburn
  • Oklahoma State at Florida
  • LSU at TCU
  • Tennessee at Texas
  • Mississippi State at Texas Tech
  • West Virginia at Arkansas

The Cowboys have been very dominant in the Big 12/SEC Challenge as they’re sitting at 6-2, behind only Baylor who’s 7-1 in the event. Along with a 6-2 record with wins over Texas A&M (2020) South Carolina (2019, 2013), and Auburn (2016), the Pokes have won their last three games in the event, including an 81-77 win over a very good Arkansas team last season, which advanced all the way to the Elite Eight. They also beat the Razorbacks in 2017.

As a conference, the Big 12 has dominated the SEC throughout the Challenge as it holds a 4-2-2 record, winning it outright in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019. The SEC’s two outright wins have come in 2018 and 2021.

It should be a fun game for senior Bryce Williams as he grew up just 130 miles from Gainesville in Tampa, FL. During his lone season at Ole Miss in 2019-20, Williams scored two points and recorded one assist against the Gators.

This will also be the first time Mike Boynton and Co. will have to coach against former Cowboy assistant coach Erik Pastrana.
