McEndoo Provides Bonus for 2021 Recruiting Class
STILLWATER – Luke McEndoo was taking a test on Monday, math test, as he prepares to finish up high school. The son of Oklahoma State Cowboy backs coach Jason McEndoo, Luke has been a hard-hitting fullback on offense and a defensive end/linebacker on defense for the Pioneers. He is a throwback style of football player that really enjoys the contact and physical aspects of the game. McEndoo has also wrestled at Stillwater, primarily to get extra work on the leverage and hands use that come in handy for football. This year he is playing basketball to work on his conditioning, ball skills, and footwork.
He had always told our staff that his intentions were to walk-on at Oklahoma State and play for his father as a fullback in the Cowboy backs arsenal. He will be a good one and serves as a huge bonus in the 2021 recruiting class. McEndoo has had some other offers and some recruiting attention but as it became clear what his intentions were, other schools quit recruiting him.
The 6-1, 242-pound McEndoo is strong and his numbers for the ultra-successful Stillwater program (2 6A-2 finalists seasons and one semi-finalist seasons) make a convincing case for the bonus theory. McEndoo has only had a couple of rushing carries (2-12-yards), but over his career he has caught 34 passes for 293-yards with a 8.6-yards per reception average and five touchdowns. His junior season he caught 16 passes for 161-yards (10.1-ypr) and four touchdowns.
On defense this season, McEndoo had 39 tackles, 30 unassisted, three tackles for loss, and two sacks. In his career he had 142 tackles with 14 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one fumble recovered, and two fumbles caused.
He is a good student, outdoorsman, and is very interested in Agriculture and will likely make that his major. He is also going to be receiving several academic scholarships.
