Oklahoma State basketball’s 2021-22 non-conference schedule continues to take shape as it looks like we now know one of the Pokes’ preseason tournament destinations.

According to a report by Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, the Cowboys will face off against NC State in the Hall of Fame Showcase at the Mohegan Sun taking place Nov. 16-17.

This would be the third all-time meeting between the two programs, the first taking place during the 1991 NCAA tournament, and the second during the 2012-13 season. Both resulting in wins for the Pokes, a 73-64 win in the second round of Tournament in Eddie Sutton’s first year back in Stillwater and a 76-56 game under Travis Ford.

The Wolfpack finish the 2020-21 season with a 14-11 overall record, 9-8 in ACC play. There were three players who averaged double-digit points this past season: Devon Daniels, Jericole Hellems and DJ Funderburk. Redshirt senior Devon Daniels led the way in scoring for the Pack with 16.5 points a game. He was also third in rebounding with 5.3 a game. Junior Hellems averaged 12.9 points and 5.0 rebounds a game, while redshirt senior Funderburk averaged 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds a game.

Two of the Pokes’ non-conference games have already been announced for the upcoming season as they’re set to host Xavier on Dec. 5 in the Big 12/Big East Battle, and will travel to Gainesville to face Florida in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Jan. 29.
