Oklahoma State to Play In Inaugural Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase

It was reported last week Oklahoma State would be facing N.C. State as part of the Hall of Fame Showcase. Well, now it’s officially official as the Cowboys will be one of three teams playing in the inaugural Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase on November 16-17 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The other teams joining the Cowboys are N.C. State, Central Connecticut State and UMass Lowell in the two-day doubleheader hosted by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.

"We're very excited to be a part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase," said OSU head coach Mike Boynton in the release. "This will be an opportunity to showcase the growth of our squad against some of the best teams in the nation while also paying tribute to the history of greats that have played this game. Oklahoma State now has five members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and it's fitting that the Cowboys participate in this event just months after the legendary Eddie Sutton was inducted."

This will be the third all-time meeting between the Cowboys and the Wolfpack, the first taking place during the 1991 NCAA tournament, and the second during the 2012-13 season. Both resulting in wins for the Pokes, a 73-64 win in the second round of Tournament in Eddie Sutton’s first year back in Stillwater and a 76-56 game under Travis Ford.

As for UMass Lowell, this will be the first meeting for the Pokes.

Two of the Pokes’ non-conference games have already been announced for the upcoming season as they’re set to host Xavier on Dec. 5 in the Big 12/Big East Battle and will travel to Gainesville to face Florida in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Jan. 29.
