LD Brown Named to Doak Walker Award Watch List
Oklahoma State running back LD Brown has been named to Doak Walker Award watch list, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced on Wednesday. Brown is one of 82 players listed as a preseason candidate for the award given to the top running back in FBS college football.
Brown is a senior running back out of Dallas, TX who’s finally getting his shot as the Cowboys’ main running back. He’s served as a backup to Justice Hill and Chuba Hubbard during their time in Stillwater.
Having returned for an extra year due to COVID-19 eligibility rules, Brown is coming off a season where he rushed for 437 yards on 82 carries with two touchdowns. He recorded two 100-yard rushing games in 2020, bringing his career total of 100-yard games to three. He also has a career average of 5.7 yards per carry.
He’s a two-time Academic All-Big 12 member and is working towards his master’s degree in recreation and leisure management.
Brown is the fourth Cowboy to be named to a preseason award watch list, as he joins defenders Kolby Harvell-Peel and Malcolm Rodriguez (Bednarik Award) and quarterback Spencer Sanders (Davey O’Brien Award).
