Oklahoma State Makes Top 6 of Four-Star Guard Alphonzo Billups

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State basketball has yet again made the top schools list for another top-100 prospect in the 2022 class.

Alphonzo Billups announced his top 6 schools on Sunday, which included Oklahoma State, LSU, N.C. State, Pitt, Texas A&M and VCU.

Billups is a 6-7, 180-pound shooting guard out of Varina HS in Richmond, VA, and is ranked as the No. 97 overall prospect in the country, the No. 13 shooting guard and the No. 6 overall prospect in Virginia according to the 247Sports composite.

With what we saw from Cade Cunningham this past season, I think we could start to see some bigger guards on the OSU roster and Billups is proof of that. With him being 6-7, Billups can see over defenders and has excellent court vision. He’s also a solid passer and has a good outside shot, but can get past defenders and into the paint.

As mentioned in the opening sentence, Billups is the sixth prospect to include the Pokes in his top schools list, along with the top 10 for Shaedon Sharpe, the top 9 for Quion Williams, the top 8 for Quadir Copeland, the top 6 for Aidan Shaw and the top 6 for Bryce Lindsay.
