Jake Manzelmann to Become Director of Strength and Conditioning at Saint Louis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State basketball is in need of a new strength and conditioning coach as long-time coach Jake Manzelmann has turned in his resignation to becoming the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Saint Louis University.
Mazelmann will be joining up with former Oklahoma State head coach Travis Ford, who’s entering his fifth year as head coach of the Billikens.
While he’ll be over every sport, Manzelmann will be working directly with the men’s basketball program at St. Louis.
This is a big blow to the program as Manzelmann has played a critical role for men’s basketball at Oklahoma State for 15 years. A few of his more notable projects are Cowboys the fans are quite familiar with. Byron Eaton arrived on campus weighing roughly 250 pounds and by the time his senior season rolled around, Eaton checked in at 205 pounds.
On the other side of things, Marshall Moses arrived on campus weighing 213 point and left weighing more than 250 pounds. Another one of the more impressive feats might have been Michael Cobbins as he arrived on campus weighing just 183 pounds. Cobbins entered his senior season weighing an impressive 230 pounds.
Current Cowboy Kalib Boone arrived on campus weighing just shy of 190 pounds and is now pushing 220. So, there’s no question as to the impact Manzelmann’s had on the program throughout the years.
This was Manzelmann’s second stint at Oklahoma State as he worked as a grad assistant for the football and women’s basketball programs during the 2004-05 season.
