Baylor Closes Football Complex, Intends to Play Game, New Kick-Off Time

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is practicing on Thursday afternoon and is scheduled to leave by United Airlines charter on Friday afternoon to go play Baylor at 6 p.m. in the regular season finale at McLane Stadium. That game is in doubt as Baylor announced via Twitter on Thursday afternoon through a statement from the school’s athletic director Mack Rhoades. Rhoades acknowledged the COVID-19 positives in the program.

Sources have told Pokes Report that there were three positive tests on the Baylor offensive coaching staff. Rhoades said the Baylor football facility had been closed, but did not state that all activities had been paused. He made it clear that Baylor intends to play the game schedule with the Cowboys on Saturday.

Stay tuned as Oklahoma State, their staff and players will be tested on Friday morning around 10 a.m. The Baylor players and staff will be tested at some time Friday morning on their campus as well. After the results of the 15-minute tests are accumulated and forwarded to the Big 12 Conference office then a decision will be made on the game being played. Another source confirmed to Pokes Report that the decision on the decision on whether to play the game would not be made until Friday morning at the earliest.

There was also a rumor earlier in the day that the Oklahoma State at Baylor game would be moved up from 6 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. likely because of other games being cancelled. It turns out that is true. The Cowboys and Bears game is scheduled for 2:32 p.m. with it being televised on one of the ESPN family of networks either ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2.

Already, Oklahoma at West Virginia and Texas at Kansas have been cancelled from the schedule on Saturday. The only other game scheduled is TCU hosting nonconference opponent Louisiana Tech at 6 p.m. in Fort Worth.

I can't believe that its safe to open the stadium on Saturday to play the game but its so unsafe today that they close all of the facilities. Cancel the game.
