Bryce Thompson Signs NIL Deal With Local Car Dealership
STILLWATER – Sophomore Bryce Thompson is the latest Oklahoma State athlete to ink an NIL deal since the rule change became official in July.
The deal between Thompson and Bill Knight Ford of Tulsa and Bill Knight Ford of Stillwater was announced Friday afternoon via social media.
According to new Oklahoma State beat writer for the Tulsa World, Eli Lederman, Rod Thompson, Bryce’s father, stated the deal will begin with posts and promotions on social media. However, Thompson did get to drive away in a rather impressive orange Ford Mustang.
While several athletes have announced deals with various organizations, such as Barstool Sports and Magz Sports Group, as well as clothing or watch deals, this is the first athlete to post a major sponsorship deal. This could have far-reaching effects within the athletic department as it’s likely the first of many major deals made over the next several months.
