STILLWATER – Chad Weiberg looked very comfortable standing in the main entry to the Sherman Smith Training Center alongside athletic media relation football contact Sean Maguire and director of football operations Rod Johnson and watching the Cowboys first practice in helmet and shoulder pads. Sunday of a weekend where Weiberg and Oklahoma State President Dr. Kayse Shrum and the rest of Shrum’s team on conference realignment came up for air.

Chad buddy... it's not about the money.

screw the goons... no matter the cost.

if you want to save face, you'd better screw the goons. We're not gonna take it.

We don't need them.. and this crap about some lame assed package needs to stop immediately.

We can schedule Auburn, or Michigan, or anybody else... SCREW THE GOONS

I dislike the Sooners as much or more than most Cowboys fans as being in my early 70's ..... I've lived with it now for almost 60 years. But it's potentially a valuable chip in the bigger game of moving forward. Who knows, if we end up with Gundy staying a winner a while longer, get "out of the OU recruiting shadow" a bit more due to some new Power 5 arrangement, perhaps we get even more competitive and OU suffers enough losses (and loses Riley the QB whisperer) and becomes more like a Florida, Georgia or even Tennessee rather than an Alabama, Ohio State or LSU. Look at A&M. They probably could have won about 8 of the last 10 years against UT. We should likely trust our leadership to look at the big picture and see what's shaking out. Possibly, it's even an advantageous chip in realignment.

bleh... that's what ESPN wants you to believe.

nobody in the entire country is going to care if OU play OSU in September. Sure it might get some coverage, but the game is MEANINGLESS. No conference implications, no bragging rights when we don't ever even win.

How many across the country mark their calendars for the Iowa State / Iowa game? Has it ever been marked on your calendar? Have you really ever watched it outside of a casual interest, or possibly because there wasn't a better game on in the same time slot?

OSU will draw just as many eyes, MORE possibly if we scheduled somebody else with a big name or big following, like Bama, like Georgia, like Michigan, like USC, like ND.. like anybody else that our brand name will drawn.

We can DO BETTER than tying our fortunes to the freaking goons, yet again.

This is not a matter of disliking the goons.... we can do better, and we don't have to help support them.

I would much rather watch a parade of top teams play the Pokes, than have to watch the goons annually, or listen to that cursed song even one more time.
