We Have to Stop Meeting Like This, But Gundy Said Dr. Shrum Has Him Up to Date

STILLWATER – Mike Gundy has a parking spot right in front of the entrance/exit to the Cowboys Football Office inside the West End Zone of Boone Pickens Stadium, so he slips into the driver’s seat, fastens that seatbelt and is on his way pretty quick when he decides it is time to leave. That is why he doesn’t get too many questions about his football team or conference realignment on his way home or to watch youngest son Gage practice with the Stillwater High School Pioneers.

Robert you like constantly mention other writers and if they say anything about realignment it's gotta be wrong. You might get osu insider info first but I don't know that that makes you the realignment all knower. Putting a lot of unnecessary bias opinion in your work these days.

I like that the administration is engaged with Gundy and looking out for the best interests of OSU. I like the part about holding the Sewerners and Shorthorn steers hostage until the TV deal is up or they pay up. OSU staying hooked up to Bowlsby's failed leadership is stupid unless they are making contingency plans for OSU not in one of the big 4 remaining conferences. There needs to be planning of aggressive expansion resulting in the BIG 16 conference being in all time zones, raiding the best teams from the AAC (possibilities - Cincinnati, UH, UCF, USF...), Mtn West (possibilities - Boise, San Diego St.), and adding BYU. Then start to market this possibility.

You expand to large metro/recruiting bases, remove time zones/teams for the PAC 12 to expand east (sink them to 5th place in the Power 5), and create a dynamic league that can win and beat blue bloods in the CFP. Will Rogers said that even if you are on the right track you will get run over if you just sit there. We cannot just sit here especially if Bowlsby is leading the Big 12 effort. Fool me once, shame on Bowlsby...fool me twice, shame on OSU. How many "foolins" does it take?

Why would the PAC, B1G or ACC send out invites now? Why create an OU/UT type mess when no B12 school can join another conference until 2025 (unless there's an acceptable home for 8 of the 10 B12 programs)? The other conferences know that an invite right now puts the invitee in a very uncomfortable position - having to stick with the B12 for another 4 years. We just need to be patient, it will come.

Mike Gundy seems to found a second wind these days with Chad Weinberg and Dr. Kasey Shrum in charge.

Robert - Which 4 add on teams make the most economic sense / cents for the Big 12 ? TV draws and viewers?

Yeah, he does seem a little more upbeat and open.
And he cut that damn mullet.
And I might add that Gundy may feel more job security with all of this Big 12/Bob Bowlsby is an idiot stuff. We'd be fools to put pressure on Gundy leaving now. It's all up to Mike now, but to think of hiring a new coach with all of this instablility would be disasterous. IMO.
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?
