STILLWATER – Well, let’s see it is simple math: Oklahoma State threw for 315-yards. Shane Illingworth, filling in for starting quarterback Spencer Sanders who was in COVID protocol, started out hot, but looked like he lost a little confidence in the second half.

Where the confidence was really wanning throughout the game was with the rushing attack.

One thing that was painfully clear last night, and it may have been because Sanders was out, but we didn't attack the edges or the perimeter with the running game, also with their quick movement into lanes they were just asking us to hit them two or three times with a pop pass that would have gone for big yardage if the safety is blocked on the play. Again, that play may not be one of Shane's strengths, I don't really know one way or the other.

LD Brown should not be RB #1. When he has a big hole then he's gone but with this O line those holes may be few and far between. He simply goes down too easily and always has. We need a guy who can get the extra yards.

LD to me doesn't go down much more easily than others, but he's hesitating and dancing when there's little room like he did in '19. Therefore, he gets hit and wrapped up standing around with no forward gain or momentum whatsoever. I can't imagine he's our best early game option. Perhaps later in game if and when a defense gets tired and slow. He's fast on an open sweep play around the end.
