Oklahoma State vs Kansas State Official Game Thread

STILLWATER – It’s game day once again as Oklahoma State is set to start conference play against Kansas State! Both the Cowboys and Wildcats are 3-0 on the season, looking to remain undefeated on the season and to start conference play 1-0.

Good news for the Cowboys as receiver Tay Martin and Jaden Bray are both back from injury, which gives quarterback Spencer Sanders two more threats on the outside.

After last week’s performances against Boise State, running back Jaylen Warren and Brock Martin are two of the team captains for K-State.

Pregame

Oklahoma State has won the toss and deferred to the second half. Will kick off from East to West.

First quarter

Field goal: Oklahoma State’s defense comes up clutch to force a K-State field goal (8:51) Oklahoma State trails 3-0.

BIG PLAY! Spencer Sanders finds Jaylen Warren for 52-yards down the left side! Super senior Josh Sills also had a huge pancake block down the sidelines that helped break the play!

TOUCHDOWN! Spencer Sanders gets into the end zone from two yards out! (6:32) Oklahoma State leads 7-0!

Touchdown: K-State returns a 99-yard return for a score (6:18) Oklahoma State trails 10-7.

Big play! Spencer Sanders hits Tay Martin across the middle for 14-yards and the first down! That’s Martin’s second catch in a row, 26 yards and two first downs.

TOUCHDOWN! Spencer Sanders finds Brennan Presley across the middle for 20-yards and the score! (3:26) Oklahoma State leads 14-10!

TOUCHDOWN! Malcolm Rodriguez recovers a low snap in the end zone for a touchdown! (3:15) Oklahoma State leads 21-10!

Punt! Oklahoma State’s defense forces a Kansas State punt! (:40)

TOUCHDOWN! Spencer Sanders finds Tay Martin with a fade to the corner of the end zone! (10:51) Oklahoma State leads 28-10!

Punt! K-State back up quarterback Jaren Lewis is in the game for Will Howard, but the OSU defense forces another punt.

Field Goal! Alex Hales nails a 20-yarder to put the Pokes up 31-10, (4:21) the first 30-point game for OSU this season!

Interception! Kolby Harvell-Peel hauls in an interception with 1:29 left in the first half!

Halftime

Third Quarter

Punt: Oklahoma State’s offense stalls out, resulting in another punt for the Pokes. K-State to take over on their own 46-yard line.

Turnover on downs! The Cowboy defense comes up with a huge stop on 3rd and 4th down to force a K-State punt!

Punt: OSU offense stalls out again, resulting in a 38-yard punt by Tom Hutton.

Touchdown: Jaren Lewis finds Deuce Vaughn for 55-yards and the score (1:08) Oklahoma State leads 31-20.

BIG PLAY! Oklahoma State picks up a first down on a huge play! Spencer Sanders finds Brennan Presley for 33-yards and they move the ball across the 50-yard line!

Punt: OSU’s offense stalls, resulting in another Tom Putton punt. 28 yards down to the seven-yard line.

Huge stop! The OSU defense comes up with another huge stop on 3rd and long to force a K-State punt! After a 55-yarder, OSU takes over 1st and 10 from their own 32-yard line.

Missed field goal: Alex Hale missed his second field goal of the game, this one from 49-yards.

SACK! Tyler Lacy records a sack and a force fumble on the play, which was recovered back by K-State. 3rd and very long upcoming!

Huge Stop! The defense comes up with another huge 3rd down stop to force a K-State punt!

FIRST DOWN! Spencer Sanders with a three-yard quarterback keeper for the first down!

HUGE play by Jaylen Warren leads to a Spencer Sanders touchdown, which is followed by a 99-yard kickoff return for a score by K-State. Not great.

Cowboys combined for 149-yards of total offense, 98 yards coming through the air from Spencer Sanders.

I understand he's playing well at Virginia this year, but he couldn't catch anything here in practice. Hard to trust a kid in a game when he can't do anything on the practice field.

If the Pokes can keep up the pressure throughout the rest of the game, and not like K-State mount a comeback, this game is gonna cure a lot of pains and worries for OSU fans

That's a huge stop on 3rd and 4th down for the OSU defense. Need to offense to pick up some yards and run the clock to give the D a breather.

The offense stalls out again, and K-State scores their first offensive touchdown of the game on one of the craziest plays you'll see this year. Need the offense to do something here.

The offense finally gets first down and moves the ball past mid-field, then the refs call Tay Martin for pass interference. Moves the ball back past the 50 to the 48-yard line, 2nd and 26. Not great.
