Spencer Sanders Tabbed Manning Award Quarterback of the Week
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders had one of the best games of his career this past Saturday in the 31-20 upset of No. 25 Kansas State. Well, it didn’t go unnoticed as he was tabbed the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
Sanders was solid on Saturday as he went 22-of-34 for 344 yards, two touchdowns and zero turnovers. He also posted nine carries for 18 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
It was the highest offensive output for the Pokes on the season as the offense combined for 481 yards of total offense, the 344 yards through the air from Sanders and 137 yards on the ground, 123 of which came from redshirt senior transfer Jaylen Warren.
Through three games this season, Sanders is 43-of-73 for 599 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. On the ground, he has 34 carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cowboys have another tough task ahead of them this weekend as they face No. 21 Baylor, who’s fresh off knocking off No. 14 Iowa State in Waco. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.
