Cowboys Avoid Night Game in Morgantown, Get Afternoon Tilt Instead

STILLWATER – Cowboy fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Oklahoma State has avoided a night game in Morgantown, WV. The Cowboys will have an afternoon tilt on the road next weekend as they’ll face the West Virginia Mountaineers at 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The Cowboys are fresh off a 55-3 drubbing of the Kansas Jayhawks in Stillwater for Homecoming. With the win, the Pokes moved to 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in Big 12 play.

As for the Mountaineers, they posted an impressive win over Iowa State as they beat the Cyclones, 38-31, the most points given up by the Cyclone defense this season.

This was a game of firsts for the Pokes as they not only scored their first third-quarter touchdown of the season, a 12-yard pass from Shane Illingworth to Bryson Green, but this is the first time the Pokes has scored more than 32 points all season long.

Spencer Sanders had just about as effiecent an outing as he’s had during his career as he went 12-of-19 for 157 yards and two touchdown and no turnovers. As for the leading rusher, that goes Dominic Richardson who carried the ball 11 times for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Tay Martin led the way in receiving with five catches for 84 yards and a touchdown, but Brennan Presley recorded two touchdowns on the night, one receiving and one rushing.

The Cowboy defense was electric as it held KU to just 143 yards of total offense, giving up its first first down late in the third quarter. That drive also marked the first time the Jayhawks crossed midfield.
