STILLWATER – Headlined by five members of Extra Inning Softball’s Extra Elite 100, head coach Kenny Gajewski announced the Oklahoma State softball team’s signing class today.
Kyra Aycock joins the Cowgirls as the 10th-ranked pitcher in Extra Inning Softball’s Extra Elite 100. The six-foot-tall pitcher out of Newnan, Ga., Aycock struck out 191 in 173 innings of work in the 2021 summer season with the Atlanta Vipers under head coach Stacy Tamborra. Aycock earned 2021 second team All-Region and All-County honors with Northgate HS and led the team to consecutive state playoff appearances in 2020 and 2021.
Out of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Angelina Craig is coming off a solid 2021 summer season with Iowa Premier National Gold and head coach Greg Dickel. Craig batted .400 with 15 home runs, 70 RBI and 36 stolen bases in a season in which she helped Iowa Premier National Gold to a Team I Fall Championship.
Fresh off a Premier Girls Fastpitch 16U National Championship in August, Katie Lott brings offensive production to the Cowgirls’ 2022 class. During the 2021 summer season, Lott batted .411 and tallied 46 hits – including eight home runs – and 33 RBI with Hotshots Premier to earn a spot on Extra Inning Softball All-Summer Team honors.
A standout on either corner of the infield, Lexi McDonald ranks No. 43 overall – No. 6 as an infielder – in Extra Innings Softball’s Extra Elite 100. A product of the Oklahoma Athletics Fastpitch club coached by Brian Madden, the left-handed batter has batted .535 at the plate in her two seasons with the club. Playing for Silo HS, McDonald has collected a pair of All-Conference honors, was 2021 All-District MVP and All-Texomaland.
“An unquestioned team leader” said Kevin Shelton, head coach of Haidyn Sokoloski’s club team, 18U Texas Glory. “[She’s] mature, coachable and dedicated to her craft… just a standout in every way.” Extra Inning Softball’s No. 3 infielder in the class of 2022 boasts size and power in her 5-foot-11 frame. She totaled 11 home runs and 32 RBI during her 2021 summer season with the Glory, which ranked second and third on the squad, respectively. Softball America rated her as the No. 31 overall recruit in the nation.
Rounding out Oklahoma State’s 2022 class, Claire Timm comes to Stillwater from Buena Park, California where she’s on track to be a four-year letterwinner for Kennedy HS. In her junior season under head coach Adrian Ramon, she batted .603 and put up a .632 on-base percentage, numbers that solidified her as a selection to the All-Empire League first team in 2021.
