We all enjoyed Bedlam! Who that loves OSU didn't?
Christ, Bedlam victories come along so infrequently that you'd be a liar if you said otherwise! Hell yes I loved the Bedlam win, but this was an epically squandered opportunity just like in 2013.
Just think, lost to the goons in OT in 2012, blew 2013, my guy ran it back in 2014 literally could've had a 4 yr win streak against the goons w a conference championship or two in the fold as well! You don't think recruiting would've improved, or our national narrative would've improved w going to the Sugar bowl and beating A SEC team that year? This was an incalculable loss of massive proportions. Gundy, and the dept. can Spin this loss how they want, but yeah, at this point I'll take a bedlam win at BPS any day of the week because every fan in that stadium that night, myself, my sophomore son at OSU , my daughter that is the only "OSU fan" at her catholic school in OKC, can/will be bought in forever because of that night and the pride they got because of that win. So yeah, Bedlam was worth it. And, honestly, that's our high-water mark. Our ceiling. That was our crowning achievement. And always will be.
That being said, we didn't lose yesterday because of Bedlam. We lost yesterday because of incredibly bad qb play and incredibly bad Offensive Coaching and schemes.
Plain and simple, if you've got a running back playing quarterback, then utilize his skill set at key moments (especially when your stud rb is out), to maximize him and mix it up! Along w moving the pocket, etc etc
We lost yesterday because we got out coached like we typically do in important games. I'm not going into the play by play analysis, but if another coaching staff can have "eye candy" and different looks to the best D in the country, and a FRESHMAN qb look pretty good against the second or third best D in the country for an entire half … why couldn't we be somewhat similar in the coaching department? They had the same amount of time to prepare, right????
All because Of Danny and Warren? Danny didn't play in Bedlam! We knew Warren was hurt! Why were our plans on offense that bad? Out coached on O plain and simple.
Again, I'm preaching to the choir (mostly) here, it was loud as hell in there yesterday and the crowd (we) tried to will us to a win and we were hamstrung because of Bedlam?!?!?!? Well, then next year let's whip their ass and be done with the series because clearly it ain't worth it, if a win causes a loss!
Baylor … all the scandal, all the coaches … and we are better than them, but they have 3 times the trophies to show for it than we do, huh?
At least we get to play in the fiesta bowl. Nice.
How'd you feel last Sunday morning versus this Sunday morning? Yeah, me too.
So yeah, I'll take the Bedlam win anytime.
