Figures.... ND should have been in over UGA... hands down.

this is so embarrassing for college football.

No way Georgia should've been left out. They're way more deserving than ND this year. It's unfortunate that we'll probably see an UGA - Bama rematch in the title game, but I think the committee got the top 4 right.

They should NOT reward a team like ND who doesn't play in a conference championship. If ND wants to get that nod, they need to join a conference and play in a championship game.

and there in lies the problem..... who is "deserving"

there is no need for UGA to be there, they lost embarrassingly to a top 4 team at the end of the year. ND lost to a top 4 team too, but long ago, and not is such a bad manner.

who gets to "decide" which teams or conferences "deserve" what?

There should NEVER EVER be two teams from the same conference if there is another reasonable choice, like a separate 11-1 major college team.

THIS IS THE PROBLEM.

you can claim whatever you want, and I don't and won't agree with you.

THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED for the outcome that they want.

says you.

yeah, and TCU should be left out because the B12 only made them "co-champions".... how undeserving!

we need to go back to the biased reporters voting for the top 2 teams and let the rest of college football get back to having fun. It worked for 150 years.

it is IMPOSSIBLE to "fairly" determine a playoff champ in college football.... it's rigged in Div 1-AA and worse in 1-A. College football is like no other sport in the world, there are simply too many teams.

There is no rule that says a team had to be in a conference, and UGA did not even win their conference, so they are no different than ND in this instance, except UGA got embarrassed by a top 4 team.

PROUD OF THIS COWBOY TEAM. I AM SORRY FOR ALL OF US AND DISAPPOINTED AGAIN. TOO MANY ERRORS YESTERDAY AND I AM SHOCKED THEY STILL HAD A CHANCE TO WIN IT AS TIME RAN OUT. THE CFP NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED BY NEXT YEAR AND REALLY MAKE IT INTERESTING. I AM TIRED OF SEEING THE SEC DOMINATE THE ENTIRE CFP. THE SEC EXPANDED SO THEY CAN HAVE 4 TEAMS IN THE EXPANDED VERSION EVERY YEAR. THEY MAY DO IT AND WE CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT. TIME FOR SOME OTHER TEAM TO RISE UP AND STOP THEM. UNTIL THEN......GO POKES!!!

I thought the ACC, B1G and 12Pac said they were not expanding BECAUSE they opposed an expanded playoff

It's about having the 4 best teams, no matter the conferences. Often times they don't get that right. This year they did.

The committee, which is full of people who decide who is deserving of being in, determined that Georgia is better than Notre Dame. Georgia played a harder schedule and has one of the most dominant defenses we've seen throughout a season.

Notre Dame played a lackluster schedule and didn't have a conference title game. The committee values conference titles and ND didn't get to play in one. Feels like a pretty easy choice for the top 4.

Clearly RA has not seen ND play much this season with him naming Jack Coan their best offensive player. They have one of best TE's in the country in Michael Mayer. But I would say ND's main weapon is their tailback Kyren Williams. Very good RB. Coan is a more of a game manager.

Which side of the stadium is the orange side?

The only difficult game on Georgia's schedule this year was Alabama

They beat Clemson, Arkansas, Auburn and Kentucky. That's much better than ND can say. Their best win is Wisconsin who isn't even ranked anymore.

I agree Mayer is an excellent player, and like you said Clan is more a game manager certainly not an Ian Book.

Silver lining? Maybe this heart rending loss will pay a dividend. Perhaps players that Might not have returned for their super senior year will do so seeking to atone for the Baylor game. Just a thought. Trying to see something positive.

No Sale.

That is all made up nonsense. UGA had their shot, and that great "defense" turned out to be not great, the SEC turned out to be weak.

No.... just not buying. ND should be in, not UGA. Period.

no lame excuses or mumbo jumbo can make it right for 2 SEC teams to be in when there is another deserving team.

CaliforniaCowboy

oh my... and who "ranks" said teams...

come on man.... rigging a system to get the results that you prefer does not make it a good system, or a good set of "data points".

now we're down to ... hey the mediocre teams that UGA beat were better than the mediocre teams that ND beat?

seriously?

when tOSU lost how far did they drop? below the 11-1 teams.... UGA should have dropped below ND... they blew it.

The whole thing was always rigged.
