STILLWATER – It appears Oklahoma State has lost its first player to the transfer portal. Cowboy offensive lineman Hunter Anthony took to Twitter to announce he’s entered the transfer portal.

The story was first reported by 247Sports.

Anthony marks the first player to enter the portal during this cycle.

Originally out of Tuttle (OK) High School, Anthony checks in at 6-6, 330-pounds and was listed as a back-up and right guard for the Pokes when on the field. He played in nine games this season, as well as nine games during his redshirt freshman season in 2019.

He started in the season opener against Tulsa during the 2020 season but suffered a leg injury early in the first quarter which sidelined him for the rest of the season, except the Baylor game and the Cheez-It Bowl against Miami.

As it currently stands on Dec. 6, Oklahoma State has three offensive line commitments in the 2022 class, 6-5, 300-pound Tyrone Webber out of New Mexico Military Institute, the No. 2 JUCO prospect in the country, 6-3, 265-pound Austin Kawecki out of Frisco (TX) Lebanon Trail and 6-8, 330-pound Calvin Harvey out of Missouri City, TX.

Look for the Cowboy coaching staff to look into the portal when it comes to bringing in additional offensive linemen in this class, which has been incredibly beneficial to the Cowboys the past few seasons as they’ve brought in Josh Sills from West Virginia and Danny Godlevske from Miami (OH).

Any idea why someone? Was he likely to not start even with Sills graduation? Competition coming in perhaps? Or just ready to see new part of U.S.?
