Cameron Epps
Cornerback
6′3″ / 215 lbs
Saint Louis, MO
Chaminade
Class of 2022
Profile: Cameron Epps is a multi-talented athlete that played both ways and really starred on offense for Chaminade, one of the top prep schools in the St. Louis, Missouri-area. You have to remember that the Cowboys have him down to play corner and bring his size and athletic ability to that position will be exciting. Epps was an athletic quarterback for the Red Devils. He ran for 1,852-yards on 193 carries and scored 28 touchdowns with an average of 9.6-yards per carry. He had 375-yards on 25 carries against Fort Zumwalt North. He had four other games with 200-yards or more and three more with over 100-yards. He threw for five touchdowns with six interceptions. He also caught eight passes for 172-yards and two touchdowns. On defense he finished with 49 tackles and a sack. He also punted for a 42.1-yard average. He scored a touchdown on a punt return too. In a shortened junior season, Epps ran for 485-yards and three touchdowns. On defense he had 31 tackles with a fumble recovery. His first two seasons at Chaminade he played mostly defense and had 52 tackles, two for loss, and an interception as a sophomore. He is a strong student and in picking Oklahoma State turned down Missouri, Arkansas, Boston College, Michigan State, Kansas State, Louisville, and West Virginia.
Robert Allen’s Projection: I always love a former quarterback in the secondary whether it’s at corner or safety. Epps is very athletic, very smart, and very driven and those three qualities will lead to early playing time. Did I mention he is 6-3? That helps too.
Dylahn McKinney
Cornerback
6′2″ / 180 lbs
Colleyville, TX
Heritage
Class of 2022
Profile: McKinney is a “classic” Tim Duffie recruit, and you have to thank Duffie as he has done a great job of loading the Oklahoma State secondary. McKinney is a two-sport athlete that has had plenty of success in track and field competing in the 100-meters, the 110-and-300 hurdles, and the long jump. He is a two-time All-District performer in football, and you can make that three because he will earn that honor again. This past season he finished with 38 tackles and five interceptions, and he returned a pair of those picks to the house for touchdowns. He was also credited with defending eight passes. In his junior campaign McKinney made 43 tackles with a pair of interceptions, a fumble recovery he returned for a touchdown, and he defended seven passes. As a sophomore, he made 22 tackles, two interceptions, one fumble forced, and one fumble recovery. Oklahoma State beat out the likes of Arizona, Missouri, Arkansas, Baylor, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Louisville, Northwestern, and others to get him.
Robert Allen’s Projection: McKinney is perfect to move along fast in that he has lots of experience at a high level in football in Texas and combines the size and athletic ability necessary. He can decide himself with how much he pours into it how soon he gets on the field.
