Game Notes

Cade Cunningham dropped his fourth 20-point performance of the season, scoring 25 points on 9-19 shooting. Cunningham has scored in double-figures in the second half alone in four of his last five games, adding 18 points in the second half against Texas.

Avery Anderson earned his first start of the season Sunday. Anderson scored 11 points on 4-8 shooting on the day. He also pulled down six rebounds and collected three steals. Anderson now has six steals in his last two games after grabbing three against TCU.

Isaac Likekele continues to be one of the premier rebounding guards in the country. Entering Sunday’s contest, Likekele’s 8.1 rebounds per game ranked 13th amongst Division I guards. Against Texas, Likekele grabbed another nine rebounds to add to his total.

OSU scored 44 points in the paint against the Longhorns. The most points in the paint Texas had allowed previously this season was 36 against North Carolina.

Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe also started for the first time this season, scoring six points and grabbing five rebounds. Moncrieffe entered the game averaging 8.6 points per game while shooting exactly 50 percent from the floor.

Despite the loss, OSU and Texas have split the regular season series in each of the last four seasons.

The Oklahoma State loss…

Dropped OSU’s record to 37-9 in the Mike Boynton era when holding opponents under 40 percent shooting.

Dropped OSU’s record against Texas to 45-53 all-time, including a 14-32 record in Austin.

Team Streaks

OSU has forced a negative assist-to-turnover ratio in six straight games, including a 9-to-12 ratio against the Longhorns.

The Cowboys have forced 10 or more turnovers in 18 straight games dating back to last season. OSU forced 12 turnovers against Texas, leading to nine points on the other end.

OSU has now made a three-pointer in 656 consecutive games, a streak that dates back to Jan. 13, 2001.
