Oklahoma State will be hosting one of their first recruiting visits days of the year as they begin to host 2023 and 2024 recruits on “junior days” and “prospect days”. This will include both prospects that have been offered and ones they are looking into and starting the recruitment process with.

One of the key names who will be on campus for these visits is 2023 edge rusher from Lakeview Centennial, Trey Wilson.

Wilson, who I am a big fan of and have talked about length is 6’4 and around 230 pounds. He is a speed rusher who would play the LEO position in the Oklahoma State offense, so if you’re trying to think of an OSU comparison, Collin Oliver is the way to go. He is a long and he is quick.

Wilson is a 4-star prospect that is a nearing the 20 offer mark. The biggest competitor in the race to land his commitment is currently Michigan. These two schools have seeminlgy taken the lead.

In regards to the Cowboys, Trey has told me on several occasions that the biggest things that stand out to him about the program in Stillwater is:

  1. How good the defense has gotten
  2. The development
  3. Stability in overall staff/position coaches
  4. Great fan base

This season, after OSU beat Texas in a wild game, Trey told me “Huge win, huge statement and they just keep impressing me. The staff has also done a good job keeping in contact every week making me feel like a major priority.”

Hosting him on visits like this one upcoming will give the staff another chance to make him feel like a priority and get the red carpet treatment.

We will keep the readers of Pokes Report updated as the Cowboys go through these recruiting weekend visits. There will be tons of content to come out of these with some big name recruits planning to make their way to Stillwater.
