Despite a couple of valiant comeback attempts, Oklahoma State comes up short in the end against Kansas, 76-62.

With the loss, the Cowboys move to 12-13 on the season and 5-8 in Big 12 play.

Avery Anderson III led the way for the Pokes as he finished with 15 points and four assists on 5-of-15 shooting from the floor, 4-of-6 from the free throw line. In his first time back in Allen Fieldhouse since transferring to Oklahoma State, Bryce Thompson was second on the stat sheet for the Pokes as he posted 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field.

Moussa Cisse was close to his fourth double-double of the season as he posted eight points and 11 boards, eight coming on the defensive end of the court, on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor.

The Jayhawks outrebounded the Cowboys, but not by much, as it was a difference of just seven, 46-39. The Cowboys did, however, outscore KU in bench points, 22-5, as well as in the paint, 38-28.

The Cowboys kept it a close game for most of the first half, with Avery Anderson III hitting a jumper to get the game within four points, 26-22, with 4:44 remaining before halftime. After a bucket by Moussa Cisse at the 2:23 mark, the Jayhawks went on a quick 7-0 run, six of the points coming from David McCormack, to go into halftime with a 10-point lead, 38-28, with Tyreek Smith hitting a bucket with just a few seconds left on the clock.

The Jayhawks got out to a hot start in the second half as they extended their lead up to 16 points on an 8-0 run, 46-30. They jumped out to their largest lead of the game, 26 points, following a dunk from Christian Braun at the 10-minute mark of the second half. The Cowboys, however, went on a quick 12-2 run, but it wasn’t enough as KU pulled back away late.

The Cowboys have the rest of the week off and will be back in action this coming Saturday as Kansas State comes to Stillwater for a 1:00 p.m. CT tip on ESPNU.

That's about what I was expecting... but I was hoping for more.

Down by 10 at the half, even the announcers said, "you just can't fall behind like that in Allen Fieldhouse".

I watched until we were down by 24.

Glad to see we made a bit of a comeback toward the end.

I'm not gonna say I expected the Pokes to win, but I certainly expected the game to be closer than it was, especially with the way KU struggles with length at times. Also with how they played against OU this past weekend.

well, like I said in the pre-game thread, the league's approach to KU is to stop Agbaji, keep somebody on him at all times.

I thought we had the personnel to do that, but our goofball coach stuck with his zone much of the game.

Agbaji was the game high scorer with 20.

Go figure.

OU guarded Agbaji like he was going to get points by just touching the ball, shooting optional.... and they seldom let him touch the ball. They were all over him.

I'm just repeating what was said on the air.... I will be watching to see how other teams approach KU.
