Oklahoma State Second Power Five School To Offer 2023 Nebraska QB Zane Flores

Oklahoma State became the second power five school to offer Zane Flores, a 2023 quarterback prospect out of Gretna, Nebraska. His other two offers come from Kansas State and Bowling Green.

Flores reports himself as 6’3” and 195 pounds, which follows the exact mold of quarterbacks that Tim Rattay has offered this year and last. 

As of right now, Flores is considered a three-star prospect, but he is early in his recruitment process and should be considered to have high potential as a riser in the 2023 class. He picked up his first offer just over a week ago on Feb. 7, earning his second only two days later. Now the Cowboys have joined in. 

I would expect to see Flores’ stock rise and more offers come in from all over the country.

Oklahoma State has offered seven quarterbacks in the 2023 class with four of them already committed, so some new offers were expected. 

As a sophomore in the 2020 season, Flores completed 69% of his pass attempts for 1,926 yards and 18 touchdowns with only three interceptions. He had an even stronger junior season in 2021, completing 70% of his passes for 2,885 yards and 26 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He also ran the ball for 216 yards and 10 touchdowns on 74 carries.

Flores led Gretna to a 12-1 overall record, winning the Nebraska Class A State Championship. Unfortunately, the state title was recently stripped due to the use of an ineligible player. Either way, Flores led his team to a state championship title.

Oklahoma State should be an attractive spot for quarterbacks in the 2023 class as the Cowboys will only have two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster this year in Spencer Sanders and Garret Rangel. There is chance this is Sanders’ last season, so coming in behind only one scholarship quarterback will be appealing for some.
