Oklahoma State Offers Four 2023 Texas Defensive Prospects

The Oklahoma State recruitng staff has been busy recently in the film room and making phone calls as a string of offers has been sent out recently. Just in the past 24 hours, there have been four prospects in Texas that have reported offers, all of which play on the defensive line or linebacker.

I will give a quick rundown of the offers and some background information on each of the prospects.

RELATED: What Are the Cowboys Looking for in Class of 2023

Billy Walton - South Oak Cliff - EDGE- 2023

Walton is a 6’4 220 pound edge rusher coming off of a state championship winning season at South Oak Cliff. With 21 offers, Walton is a prospect who obviously has some hype to him, although some of the major recruiting services have not yet ranked him. He does hold offers from Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Texas Tech, among others. In my opinion, Walton is a high 4-star type of talent.

In this past season, Walton racked up 55 tackles, nine for a loss, and a whopping 12 sacks. He also had two pass deflections at the line. Those numbers alone should prove to you this one of the most “high upside” prospects in Texas.

I am a big fan of Walton, as should anybody when you see the 12 sacks on the stat sheet.

Tre Williams - Dallas Parish Episcopal - EDGE - 2023

Williams is another edge rusher and he measures in at 6’3 and around 215 pounds. Currently, he holds 12 offers from schools such as SMU, Nebraska, Arizona State, and Cal. He also does not have a national ranking at this time, but should soon.

Williams had a monster junior season with 75 tackles and 24.5 tackles for loss. On top of that, he had 11 sacks and 31 quarterback hurries. This is a guy who can flat out get to the quarterback.

Expect Williams’ rectutment to take off soon.

Keviyan Huddleston - Chapel Hill - DL  - 2023

Next up is Keviyan Huddletson, who is a little bigger than the previous two, measuring in at 6’4 but 235 pounds. This is a guy who is playing defensive end right now but if he continues to grow and put on muscle, he could find himsel moving inside a little. At this time he holds 10 offers from Arkansas, UNT, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, and others.

According to Maxpreps, in his career so far, he has racked up 57 total tackles and seven sacks. He has also caused and recovered three fumbles.

Huddleston is a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball and also throwing discus. He appears to be a great athlete and a player who can be very versatile on the field.

S’Maje Burrell - North Crowley - ILB - 2023

The last of the group is the only true lineabacker in S’Maje Burrell. Burrell is a well coveted prospect, holding 23 offers and being on the outskirts of being a 4-star prospect. He holds offers from Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Baylor, and plenty of other power five schools.

Burrell was named the District 3A Co-defensive MVP after finishing the season with 103 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and five sacks. He also had one interception and four forced fumbles.

Oklahoma State will continue to dish out offers on both sides of the ball on this portion of the year and like most years, I would expect to see some movement and some decisions being made when April and May come around. June is always a hot month for the Cowboys in recruiting and I would expect no different this year.
