STILLWATER – Oklahoma State basketball has a chance to finish the 2021-22 season .500 on the year at 15-15, and that starts Wednesday night with the last road trip of the season. The Cowboys hit the road for a showdown with the Iowa State Cyclones, who will be looking to win their fifth-straight Big 12 game in a row.

Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on March 2 and will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing 66-62 overtime Bedlam road loss this past Saturday, while the Cyclones won a close one over Kansas State in Manhattan, 74-73. They’ve won four-straight Big 12 games, TCU 54-51 on Feb. 15, OU 75-54 on Feb. 19, WVU 84-81 on Feb. 23 and the above-mentioned 74-73 win over Kansas State on Feb. 26.

The Cyclones are led by senior guard Izaiah Brockington, who’s averaging 18.9 points a game on 47% shooting from the field during Big 12 play. He’s also shooting 40% from 3-point range, averaging 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists during Big 12 play.

Next on the stat sheet is freshman guard Tyrese Hunter, who’s averaging 11.8 points a game on 42% shooting from the field during Big 12 play. He’s also second on the team in rebounds with 3.4 a game during league play, but he leads the team in assists with 4.6 a game.

The Cyclones took the first matchup back on Jan. 26, an 84-81 overtime shootout in Stillwater. They were led by both Brockington and Hunter, who posted 25 points and 18 points respectively. Caleb Grill and George Conditt also posted double digit points with 15 and 10 respectively.

As for the Pokes the first time out, they were led by Avery Anderson III, who posted several season highs, including 34 points, 5-of-11 from 3-point range and 11-of-13 from the free throw line.

The Cowboys will be looking for continued elevated play from Anderson III, as well as center Moussa Cisse and guard Bryce Thompson, who’s been solid the past five games. During that stretch, Avery’s posted 17.6 points per game, while Thompson is sitting at 14.2 points per game and Cisse at 11.8. Cisse has also led the team with 9.4 rebounds per game during that stretch.
