Former Cowboy Lane Taylor Feeds the Hungry in Green Bay for Christmas

STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State offensive lineman Lane Taylor was a guy that looked out for others and was a good example of the Cowboy culture when he was in Stillwater and that has only grown playing at the NFL’s most hometown friendly franchise in the Green Bay Packers.

Taylor is missing this season for the second time in his now eight-year NFL career. He suffered a knee injury early in the season. He missed the 2019 season with a biceps injury. Taylor rehabbed the injury, got back in the weightroom to regain his strength, then on the field earned his starting position back as one of the five linemen protecting All-Pro and future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Now, after this second season-ending injury, Taylor has said his love for and passion for cooking is greater than ever and he has put it to good use. He buys the groceries, cooks the meals, and then delivers them to feed the less fortunate in the Green Bay area.

Taylor has been working on the project throughout the fall and he fed more than 100 people during the Thanksgiving holiday and he was back at it for Christmas delivering meals on Christmas Eve to Better Days Mentoring of Green Bay as shown on the Packers team Twitter site.

Taylor is the same player who in Oklahoma State lore didn’t stay in the hotel the night before, but because of injury and ineffective play was plugged in during the win in 2009 against a highly-ranked Georgia team and was in the starting line-up from that afternoon on. He is the same player that used to help teammates whenever their car or truck broke down because of his mechanical expertise.

Now, Taylor is the player in Green Bay that helps to feed the less fortunate.

The video put out by the Packers is going to make Taylor one of the more popular Packers ever because as a starter on the field he has helped his team to success, but off the field he has helped people period.
