Keylan Boone Enters the Transfer Portal

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has lost its second player to the transfer portal this cycle. Junior wing Keylan Boone took to Instagram Monday afternoon to make the announcement.

Pokes Report has confirmed a report by Jacob Unruh of The Oklahoman that Keylan’s twin brother, Kalib, is expected to remain with the program.

Obviously, things can change, but that’s where the situation stands as of March 21.

Keylan is the second player to enter the transfer portal following the 2021-22 season, joining sophomore guard Donovan Williams.

The 6-8 guard out of Tulsa Memorial averaged 6.0 points on 37% shooting from the field and 3.3 rebounds a game in 27 games this past season. He also finished third on the team in 3-point percentage as he shot nearly 32% from beyond the arc. He also shot 83% from the free throw line.

With Boone’s departure, this now opens up three scholarships for Mike Boynton and Co. to work with moving forward with the 2022 class. They signed Quion Williams, a four-star guard out of Jonesboro, AR back in November, are losing Bryce Williams, and most likely point guard Isaac Likekele, and Donovan Williams to the portal.

There’s still the question as to how Boynton will divvy up the loss of three scholarships over three seasons, but he told the media following the season he’s going to recruit and sign as many players, whether high school or out of the portal, as he can before the end of the 2022 cycle.
