Oklahoma State to Host 2023 Four-Star Athlete on Official Visit
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State will be hosting one of the top prospects in the 2023 class in June.
Rodney Gallagher, a four-star athlete out of Laurel Highlands in Uniontown, PA, announced he's taking an official visit this June.
This announcement comes less than 24 hours after he received an offer from Mike Gundy and Co., which accounts for his 22nd offer so far. He’s also received offers from Arizona State, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas and West Virginia among others.
Gallagher, who’s listed at 6-0, 160-pounds, is a dual-threat quarterback in the 2023 class. This past season as a junior, he went 104-of-179 for 1,365 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air, while carrying the ball 169 times for 1,130 yards and 21 touchdowns.
This came after playing wide receiver during his first two years in high school.
He’ll need to bulk up in size wherever he winds up, but his speed, athleticism and frame makes him an ideal slot receiver or receiver out of the backfield. Has very good downfield vision and breakaway speed and isn’t afraid of contact in the middle of the field.
Gallagher is currently listed as the No. 97 overall prospect in the 2023 class according to 247Sports, as well as the No. 2 prospect out of Pennsylvania.
The Cowboy coaching staff will be hosting a handful of official visitors for the Spring Game the weekend of April 23. In attendance will be defensive line commit out of Del City, Jaedon Foreman, QB Zane Flores out of Gretna (NE) HS, ATH Dylan Smith out of Braswell HS, CB Jaylon Braxton out of Lone Star HS and Buffalo transfer running back Dylan McDuffie.
There are currently four commitments in the 2023 cycle: DL Jaedon Foreman, DB Kam Franklin and offensive linemen Jack Endean and JaKobe Smith.
