STILLWATER, Okla. – It was a pretty successful weekend for the Oklahoma State Cowboys and crew after hosting a few unofficial visits and landing a commitment from 2023 QB Zane Flores. Among these unofficial visits was four-star offensive tackle Isaiah Robinson out of Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas. The 6’8” 288 pound 2020 MaxPreps Sophomore All-American is an impressive athlete based on his measurements alone.

Not holding my breath on us being able to land this kid.

Hopefully nil can help land kids like this but yeah it does feel like the yearly lineman we pursue forever just for him to land somewhere else. I am curious to see if/when we turn that corner and start getting these lineman. Offense and defensive side of the ball.

Top 15 after the visit, yikes. Glad he enjoyed his visit though.

I'd say they were doing pretty darn good on the defensive line, but I understand your thoughts on higher ranked guys.

They are definitely good on the d line I won't disagree I just specifically mean landing the big time tackles really. We don't get the star o line guys or the big time d tackles often. I think with how far the program has come and how much better we have been at recruiting in general to our systems taking the next step in trench recruiting would be huge

With the caliber of players they've landed in the past few classes, it feels like they're really close to taking that next step around the corner. Still some work to be done, but definitely close.

I agree. Especially with nil collectives and osu playin ball with it to stay up with the times. I believe it's gonna start happening soon as well

And I think the steps the current administration are taking to support the program is going to greatly improve things rather rapidly.

not to be the negative Nancy... but day late and a dollar short.

take this kid in the article for example.. it says Texas has offered... the pay OLinemen $50k/yr. so any hope of landing a kid like this once the big dogs have offered is zilch.

IMO, we're just not in the same "league". Our posse is about 8,500, and most don't have the "daddy warbucks money" needed to create a paying foundation for every position on the team (which is the UT goal).

our efforts may keep us in play with the "new" B12 members, but not when we're talking about this caliber of kids.

Worth a shot to try to recruit the difference maker linemen. But yes, tough to lock them down with not only NIL but also the lack of our big bodies/linemen making a splash in the NFL draft of late. I was disappointed to see the projections of Antwine, Sills and D.Godleske in this upcoming draft. Perhaps one will surprise us. We need to have a bit of luck and have a few make the top three rounds. I think it's coming at DE at least.....but again, big body success would help recruits see us as a better NFL route.
