Isaac Likekele To Enter Portal as Grad Transfer
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State senior guard Isaac Likekele will be looking for a new place to play this fall.
Pokes Report was able to confirm the report from CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander that Likekele is entering his name into the transfer portal as a grad transfer.
Likekele took to Instagram to write a message about his decision.
“First, I would like to thank Oklahoma State for these past four years. Graduating from Oklahoma State will be one of my biggest achievements. I want to thank the staff, players and community for everything you’ve done. After talking to my family and other people who have been with me on this journey, I’ve decided to not declare for the 2022 NBA Draft and instead enter the transfer portal as a graduated transfer. Running my own race at my own pace is what I’ve always done, and it has gotten me exactly where God wants me to be. I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds for me.”
Likekele still has one year of eligibility remaining due to a COVID year and there’s no question he’ll be recruited heavily by several schools after his time in Stillwater.
During his four years in Stillwater, Likekele played in 114 games, starting in 110 of those. During his career, he combined to average 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
Likekele finished his senior season in Stillwater averaging 7.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
He earned All-Big 12 honorable mention nods following his sophomore and junior seasons, in which he averaged 10.9 points and 5.7 rebounds a game in 2019 and 9.1 points and 6.6 rebounds a game in 2020.
His numbers would’ve been higher in both those seasons, except he missed roughly a month during both years because of illness and injury.
He also became just the second freshman in program history to record 120+ steals and 40+ assists in his first year as a Cowboy.
Following his breakout freshman season, Likekele was selected to participate in the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup, joining Matt Clark (1979), Marcus Smart (2013) and Jawun Evans (2015) to become just the fourth player in program history to win gold.
He averaged 8.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game in the World Cup.
As it stands right now, there are currently 10 scholarship players on the roster following the departures of Bryce Williams to graduation and Keylan Boone, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and Donovan Williams to the transfer portal. That number includes the addition of incoming freshman Quion Williams.
