STILLWATER – Mike Boynton and Co. continue to look towards the transfer portal to try and bring in some talent to fill open roster spots. According to a report by Adam Zagoria, the search has led them to a different shade of orange.

Oklahoma State is set to host Clemson transfer guard, Al-Amir Dawes, at some point next week. He’s fresh off a trip to Georgia and will be visiting Seton Hall on Monday.

Originally out of Newark, NJ, Dawes has been a solid piece for the Tigers. He averaged 11.3 points a game this past season on 40% shooting from the field. He also shot 40% from beyond the 3-point line, making 84 of his 211 attempts. He also dished out 75 assists and hauled in 94 rebounds.

During his three-year career with the Tigers, Dawes played in 88 games, starting in 66, and averaged 9.9 points a game on a career 40% shooting from the field. He also averaged 37% from beyond the 3-point line, an area where the Cowboys need some help in this upcoming season.

The Cowboys have reached out to a few players in the portal the past few weeks, including being one of the schools in consistent contact with Texas transfer, Courtney Ramey.

With Avery Anderson III entering his name into the NBA Draft process, Mike Boynton and Co have nine scholarship players, with the addition of incoming freshman, Quion Williams. Bryce Williams graduated and has no remaining eligibility, Keylan Boone, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe and Donovan Williams entered the transfer portal, as did senior guard Isaac Likekele as a grad transfer.
