Oklahoma State Gets Busy with Offers Including 2024 O-Lineman Ashton Funk

STILLWATER, Okla. – As Oklahoma State continues to bolster up its offensive line, they extended an offer this afternoon to Ashton Funk, a huge prospect and offensive lineman in the 2024 class. Funk is a 6’6”, 295-pound lineman out of Katy (Tompkins), Texas. While he has yet to be ranked in the 2024 class, Funk has earned offers from 15 schools including Michigan, Texas A&M, TCU, Baylor, Houston, Colorado and Colorado State. In fact in the hours after Oklahoma State offers Mississippi State and Colorado offered.

During Funk’s sophomore season, the Tompkins Falcons went 11-2 with a playoff run ending in a 26-20 loss to the 6A Region 3 State Champions, the North Shore Mustangs. Along with the successful season, Dave Cambell’s Texas Football named Funk to the Texas Top 100 and called Funk “a mobile and athletic offensive tackle prospect who fires off the ball and decimates the competition.”

Funk owns an impressive 4.45 GPA, proving that he’s committed to both athletics and academics as he passes the halfway point in his high school career.

After today’s offer, Funk became the second offensive lineman offered out of the 2024 class next to Orie Williams, a tackle and 3-star prospect out of San Marcos, Texas. Not only was Williams the first offensive lineman Oklahoma State offered in the 2024 class, but they were his first scholarship offer. Now, Oklahoma State has extended a total of six offers to prospects out of the 2024 class. 

Since Oklahoma State offered Williams, Texas Tech, Baylor, UTSA, Texas, and LSU have all offered Williams. It’s almost as if other schools are watching to see who the Cowboys offer.
