STILLWATER – Oklahoma State and Mike Boynton are set to host two of the top in-state prospects in the 2023 class.

According to a report from Marshall Scott of Pistols Firing, the Cowboys will host Del City’s Brandon Garrison and Tulsa Union’s Trent Pierce this weekend.

Since publishing this article, Pokes Report has learned that both Garrison and Pierce are on official visits.

This news comes just a few days after four-star Bixby shooting guard, Parker Friedrichsen, decommitted from the Pokes.

Both Garrison and Pierce are ranked as four-star prospects in the 2023 class, with Garrison checking in at No. 56 in the class and Pierce No. 116 according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Garrison is listed as the No. 1 overall prospect out of Oklahoma, while Pierce checks in at No. 2.

Garrison, who checks in at 6-9, 205-pounds and is listed as a center, currently holds 11 offers up to this point in his recruiting cycle, including Arkansas, Houston, Kansas, OU, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech among others.

Pierce, who checks in at 6-8, 180-pounds and is listed as a small forward, currently holds eight offers up to this point in his recruiting cycle, including Kansas State, Loyola Chicago, Minnesota, OU and Texas Tech among others.

Both Garrison and Pierce play for the same AAU team, Team Griffin on Nike’s EYBL circuit, and both have had really solid springs. Garrison is averaging 12.8 points and seven rebounds through eight games this spring, while shooting an impressive 62% from the field.

Since taking over the program, Mike Boynton and Co. have had a lot of success recruiting the state of Oklahoma, which includes five star Bryce Thompson out of the transfer portal, four stars Kalib Boone and Rondel Walker out of high school and three star Keylan Boone, all four of which were among the top players in their respective classes.

So, the additions of either Garrison or Pierce, or both, would be huge gets for the Pokes and further bolster the Pokes’ standing in Oklahoma high school basketball.
