STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has became the first FBS program to extend an offer to in-state 2023 defensive back, Cooper Lai.
This offer comes just a few weeks after Lai participated in an Oklahoma State prospect camp, as well as The Freak Show camp.
Lai checks in at 6-1, 176-pounds, and is a two-way play for Cascia Hall. He plays quarterback and safety for the Commandos. I spoke with Lai about a month ago prior to the Rejoice Christian camp and he told me he was being recruited as a defensive back.
He also told me he was being recruited by a few FCS programs, including Drake and Emporia State, both of which have extended offers.
He’s an athletic prospect as he’s posted a 4.56 40-time, a 31-inch vertical and an 11.7 in the broad jump this summer. Depending on where he ends up, he’ll most likely put on anywhere between 10-15 pounds and his 40-time will most likely drop down a bit.
