Oklahoma State Makes the Cut for 2023 Top-100 OT Zalance Heard
STILLWATER – We’re officially into college football’s summer recruiting dead period, which means no official or unofficial visits, no off-campus recruiting or phone calls. However, a piece of OSU recruiting news snuck past me a few days ago.
Oklahoma State made the cut to land 2023 four-star offensive tackle prospect, Zalance Heard.
Along with Oklahoma State, Heard included Auburn, Florida State, Houston, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Nebraska and Texas.
Heard is a 6-5, 300-pound offensive lineman out of Neville High School in Monroe, LA. He’s a highly sought-after prospect as he checks in as the No. 79 overall prospect in the country, the No. 9 OT in the class and the No. 6 overall prospect out of Louisiana in the 2023 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Heard was originally projected to be a defensive lineman while playing at Bastrop (La.) HS, but made the transition to full-time offensive lineman once he transferred to Monroe after his sophomore season.
Heard has seen a near-consistent climb in the rankings since the Cowboys offered back in October. He started his recruiting journey off as the No. 325 ranked prospect in the composite rankings.
