Oklahoma State Softball Lands Pair of Alabama Transfers

STILLWATER – Kenny Gajewski is working his transfer portal magic once again as Oklahoma State Cowgirl softball has landed a pair of Alabama transfers.

Infielder Megan Bloodworth and pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl announced their decisions to commit to the Cowgirls last week.

Bloodworth was one of the top freshmen in the country this past season as she was one of 25 finalists for the 2022 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year. She hit .292 in 45 games this past season, which included seven home runs and 30 RBIs, which was second on the Alabama squad this past season.

When compared to this past season’s Cowgirl team, Bloodworth’s .292 average ranks seventh being Chyenne Factor, who hit .303 in 62 games.

As for Kilfoyl, she was one of two aces for Alabama along with senior and three-time All-American, Montana Fouts.

Kilfoyl finished her junior season with a 9-3 record in the circle with a 2.36 ERA. Four of her wins came against top-10 teams, including then-No. 7 Florida, then-No. 8 Virginia Tech, then-No. 8 Kentucky and then-No. 9 Arizona.

She recorded 79 strikeouts and 32 walks, while giving up just seven home runs in 80.0 innings pitched. Her season was cut short due by both hip and foot injuries, which caused her to miss the final 11 games of Alabama’s season.
