STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is in the mix to land one of the top prospects in the 2022 class.

Ugonna Kingsley Onyenso, a 7-0, 233-pound center out of Putnam (CT) Science Academy, is set to announce his commitment on August 1 and 1 p.m. CT and he’s down to Oklahoma State, Kentucky, OU and Tennessee.

According to his 247Sports profile page, Kentucky is currently the favorites to land Kingsley as the Wildcats have two crystal ball votes in their favor.

Kingsley, who’s originally from Owerri, Nigeria, is currently ranked as the No. 39 overall prospect in the 2022 class, the No. 9 overall center and the No. 1 prospect out of Conn., according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He was originally in the 2022 class before reclassifying to the 2023 class, but recently reclassified back to the 2022 class.

He’s been enrolled at Putnam Science Academy since December 2021 and spent two years at NBA Academy Africa in Senegal before that.

He was also one of the top center prospects at this year’s Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas back in early June.

The Cowboys committed and signed one prospect in the 2022 class, four-star wing/guard Quion Williams out of Jonesboro, AR.

Mike Boynton and Co. currently has one commitment in the 2023 class, four-star forward out of Del City (OK) HS, Brandon Garrison. Garrison, a 6-9, 205-pound forward, is currently ranked as the No. 52 overall prospect in the 2023 class.
