Oklahoma State is in the mix to land another top-150 2023 prospect.

Four-star forward Justin McBride took to Twitter Friday afternoon and announced his top-six schools, which included Oklahoma State.

Along with the Cowboys, McBride included Arizona State, Kansas State, Missouri, Santa Clara and VCU.

This is a trend we’ve seen from recruits in the past few classes where Mike Boynton and Co. will offer a prospect, then that prospect will include the Cowboys in a top or final schools list just a few months later.

Boynton and Co. extended an offer to McBride, who’s a 6-7, 210-pound power forward out of Plano (TX) High School, in late July following a very solid run on the AAU circuit with Drive Nation, the same team as new OSU commit, Jamyron Keller.

McBride averaged a solid 13.1 points and 4.8 rebounds on the EYBL circuit with Drive Nation, while also dropping an impressive 16.8 points and 6.3 rebounds a game during the Peach Invitational, an event which Drive Nation won.

McBride played for national powerhouse Oak Hill in Mouth of Wilson, VA, last year before making the move to Plano in the middle of the year. In fact, it appeared his recruiting process would be wrapped up before this past signing class ended as he had dropped a final four list Sept 2021, which included Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Texas Tech. However, he opened his process back up to all schools this past March and has seen a handful of offers come his way since June.

McBride is currently ranked as the No. 149 overall prospect in the 2023 class, the No. 31 overall power forward and No. 14 overall prospect out of Texas in the class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Both Rivals and ESPN list McBride as a four-star prospect, with Rivals listing him as the No. 121 overall prospect in the 2023 class.
